Our current centralized fossil fuel based energy system increasingly endangers humans and the ecological, social, and economic systems upon which we depend. The health of our communities depends on a rapid transition to sustainable energy generation and use. We can start here and now, in our own community, to build a Northwest region powered by clean energy.
Founded in 2001, Northwest SEED creates communities powered by locally controlled clean energy.
Through on-the-ground projects and progressive policies, we seek to:
- Decrease the cost of renewable energy technologies
- Increase the % of clean, distributed generation in our regional energy portfolio
- Increase access to clean energy for middle and low-income households
- Grow the local economy and increase community resiliency through locally sourced energy projects
