Solarize South County Kick-off and Volunteer Training
September 20, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Help Solarize South County!
Using the power of neighbor-to-neighbor organizing and the compelling cost savings of a group purchase, Solarize helps communities go solar together. Solarize is powered by community volunteers who help select a solar contractor and get the word out about the opportunity. Yakima Valley Conference of Governments, in partnership with Spark Northwest, is bringing Solarize to South Yakima County!
Join us at the Solarize South County Kick-off and Volunteer Training, presented by Spark Northwest, a non-profit that has led 21 solar group purhcase campaigns in Washington and Oregon. Get an overview of the campaign and solar technology, plus a chance to get started planning Solarize South County. After the training, you can decide how much more time you want to commit to volunteering with the campaign, whether it’s joining a committee, or just sharing the opportunity with your neighbors.
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or 206-457-5403
After training, you can choose to join one of two volunteer teams that will make Solarize South County happen:
- Contractor Selection Team: Choose the contractor who will serve Solarize South County through a competitive process (10-15 hours this fall, firm commitment required)
- Community Outreach Team: Spread the word about Solarize South County workshops (1-3 hours weekly in fall and winter, hours flexible)
