Mukilteo is going solar! Solarize Mukilteo is a community-led initiative to bring solar energy to homes and businesses in zip code 98275 and surrounding areas. A collaborative effort of Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development (Northwest SEED), Snohomish County PUD, and a team of local volunteer residents, Solarize Mukilteo is a time-limited initiative designed to help people “go solar” via a streamlined process and group discount. Registration is now open; the first workshop will be held July 28, 2012.
The Solarize Mukilteo initiative also includes an authorized solar installation team, A&R Solar and NW Wind & Solar, whose joint proposal was selected by the volunteer steering committee through a competitive process that completed in June.
“We are excited to get this initiative underway and confident that the A&R Solar and NW Wind and Solar Team will do a great job,” said Mary Shank of the volunteer committee. “We are really looking forward to working with them to bring solar to our community.”
