It may be hard to see but the sun is out there and Solarize Seattle: Northeast wants to help you harness its energy.
If you’re interested in learning more about solar power and may even be thinking about installing solar panels on your home – you’re in luck.
Solarize Seattle: NE has extended its deadline to Monday, April 30 for Northeast residents and small business owners to register for its discounted installation program.
So far, organizers say 300 residents have registered.
Alexandra Sawyer, project coordinator, says Solarize Seattle: NE will be holding several more solar power educational workshops for free.
There is no cost and no obligation to sign up. Sawyer says registering provides you information on the workshops and other deadlines if you decide you want to get a free solar assessment.
More than 20 Northeast Seattle residents have installed solar panels on their homes. Sawyer says the plan is to increase that number to 50 by the end of this summer.
The next workshop is Saturday, April 28 from 11:00AM-12:30PM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 4805 NE 45th Street.
You can register for Solarize Seattle: NE online.
Appeared in KOMO Communities on April 20, 2012.
