The first workshop for the new “Solarize Mukilteo” program has been set for July 28.
The program, a joint effort by the Snohomish County PUD, Northwest SEED and the city of Mukilteo, will help homeowners who want to switch to solar energy for their homes. The workshops will talk about the Solarize Mukilteo effort, financing, incentives, the latest solar technology and how to get neighborhoods together for group discounts.
That first workshop is July 28 at 9 a.m. at Mukilteo City Hall. There will also be workshops at City Hall on August 18 and September 22, and at the Rosehill Community Center on October 17. All are free to attend, and everyone who does attend gets a free site assessment, if they wish.
Mukilteo is the second Snohomish County city to be a part of the Solarize Washington program. Stanwood is also part of the program, along with a number of Seattle neighborhoods and Thurston County.
Registration for the program, which is also free, started last week and can be done online. The deadline to register is October 10, so there’s plenty of time.

Appeared in KOMO Communities on July 18, 2012.
