PUD to hold meeting Thursday on possible “Solarize Mukilteo” campaign

By Ray Marcham

Snohomish County PUD will be holding a information meeting on Thursday night to see if there is any support for a “Solarize Mukilteo” campaign.

The publicly-owned utility is hosting the meeting at Mukilteo City Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Representatives from the agency will talk about what a campaign would look like, get ideas from those in attendance on initiatives, partnerships and outreach. The meeting will help determine of Mukilteo will join cities like Shoreline, Stanwood and Portland in the “solarize” campaign.

The program would let residential and commercial users use group purchases and evaluations to help lower costs and make solar a real possibility for many in the city.

It is part of the PUD’s Solar Express initiative, where the utility is promoting the use of solar energy as a viable alternative to regular power sources.

More information can be gathered by calling the PUD Energy Hotline at 425-783-1700.
