Seattle City Light working to support renewable energy

Energy independence and eliminating harmful carbon dioxide emissions from our environment are priorities for this administration. We are fortunate to have perhaps the cleanest and greenest electric utility in the United States. Since 2005, City Light has avoided all greenhouse gas emissions from its operations – the only urban utility in the country to be able to make that claim. Not only does City Light have primarily hydropower as its electric generating source, it also is actively pursuing and supporting other new, renewable sources of power.
