Solarize Northwest workshop draws a big crowd

Our first Solarize Northwest Seattle meeting attracted over 150 people from the Phinney Neighborhood with a budding interest in learning what solar power could do for their homes. The positive energy and green power enthusiasm in the room was absolutely palpable. Seattle continues to inspire us with their dedication to a clean and sustainable tomorrow!

Puget Sound Solar and partner company Artisan Electric were chosen by Northwest SEED and Seattle City Light to be the installers of choice for the Solarize Northwest Seattle program. The program is aimed at helping home owners leverage existing incentives to convert their homes to solar power – thereby increasing property values and reducing energy costs at one time.

Participants also get a group-buying discount for the best possible price on their solar system.

The project is supported by three community councils and four Sustainable groups, and has volunteers working to get the word out in every northwest neighborhood. It follows a process run by Solarize in northeast Seattle, Queen Anne and Magnolia that has put solar on more than 100 homes.
